With more than twenty years of experience...
Leslie offers individual and group supervision for professionals along with media services and speaking.
Navigating the intersection of sport and eating disorders is complex and no two cases are the same. Leslie's depth of experience, both in sport and all levels of eating disorder care, allow her to provide practical, unbiased, evidence-based support to providers and performance teams. Specialized clinical supervision is an investment that reduces liability while also ensuring your team is providing ethical care to individuals in need.
Leslie’s work has changed how I view my practice both in building up the processes and intake information on the back end but also in the individual one-on-one counseling work. Challenging the norm can be overwhelming, but Leslie empowers you with the tools to embrace the tough conversations and ultimately drive clients toward more empowerment and trust in their own bodies.
Leslie is so incredibly knowledgeable and was able to help our student-athlete nutrition education program shine. Leslie helped us refine our goals and program objectives, assisted with lesson planning and presentation reviewing, and continuously shared her expertise. Leslie not only helped the student-athletes but helped me be a better educator and clinician.
Leslie is a wealth of knowledge and has been a fantastic mentor. My understanding of disordered eating and RED-S has grown exponentially under her supervision, and I feel 10x more confident and educated in these areas. She goes out of her way to provide resources and support however needed. I am extremely grateful for her guidance!
Working with Leslie has truly elevated my work as a practitioner. Leslie equips us with evidence-based proof to serve our clients in a weight-neutral, health-promoting approach. I’m able to help my clients on a deeper level because of my training with Leslie!
Leslie is at the top of the game when it comes to learning how to talk to and work with eating disorders in a sport-specific setting. She always knows the right language and can help work through complex client cases to help you become the most confident provider version of yourself. She's the absolute best!
Working with Leslie has been wonderful! Talking through cases helped me strengthen my knowledge to best support my clients.
Leslie is an incredible practitioner who provides a refreshing mix of humility, humor, and expertise that translates well to the modern world of athletics. She has truly become the inner voice in my head during counseling sessions that guides/encourages me to connect authentically with my athletes.
I have done supervision with Leslie for about 3 years and it has allowed me to become such a stronger, more confident practitioner. Leslie has the experience and most current research-backed knowledge to help me make the best recommendations for my clients. Her experience and the experience of the other practitioners in the group has helped me feel supported while navigating tough scenarios my clients are walking through and to make the best decisions in coaching and counseling my athletes.
Cannot say enough great things about the support and supervision I have found with Leslie! She is a wealth of knowledge and has helped me tackle such a niche clientele in the world of sports nutrition and eating disorders. So grateful for all of her support!
Leslie is amazing! She has helped me tremendously in improving my counseling and clinical skills. Her compassionate but direct approach gives you confidence in treating patients, and the group format allows you to learn from others as well. Everyone would benefit from learning from Leslie! What is professional Supervision?
Supervision is utilized across many disciplines to support skill building, professional development and continued education within your practice area. It is a confidential space to learn and discuss.
- Client scenarios and challenging encounters
- Skillset expansion while maintaining scope of practice
- Therapeutic strategies to build client rapport and promote longterm success
Who needs supervision?
All professionals seek additional learning and growth opportunities throughout their careers. Lifelong learning is a value for most health and wellness professionals. Engaging in supervision aligns with that value. If any of these scenarios describe you, you could benefit from professional supervision.
- I’m curious if my client has disordered eating or an eating disorder, and I want to be careful that I’m
offering help, not harm. - I know a little about Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), but I’m unsure how to use REDs education to help my clients and athletes achieve improved health and performance.
- I feel like my clients are often confused with all the health and wellness misinformation out there, and it’s hard to help them make improvements because of it.
- I sometimes wonder if my own beliefs about health and nutrition need to be supported because I know health professionals aren’t immune to disordered eating or body image concerns.
- I could use tools and language to better connect and support my clients in hard times.
